Termination of mental health services for children

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted of the termination of children's mental health services. The findings indicate that families and providers mostly concurred in terminating treatment. About 50% of the clients self-terminated or were terminated at the discretion of the provider. Families tended to have a more central role in terminating outpatient care while providers tended to have a more dominant role in terminating restrictive services.
