Developmental sex differences in types of conduct problems

Article Abstract:

This article examines the differences between boys and girls who display high risk behavior and have conduct problems. The authors, analyzing the results of the Child Behavior Checklist, conclude that the boys sampled demonstrated more problems with aggressive behavior than girls, however, there was no sex differences for stealing, lying, and substance abuse.

Telling the children: Disclosure of maternal HIV infection and its effects on child psychosicial adjustment

The authors examine the psychosocial aspects of African American children told that a parent is HIV positive versus those children with whom the information is not shared. Topics include mother and child relationships, behavior problems in children, and pre- to post disclosure relationships.
