The prevalence of serious emotional disturbance: a re-analysis of community studies

Article Abstract:

The incidences of serious emotional disturbance (SED) in children and adolescents were analyzed using the Secondary Analysis Project for data collection. The aim of the analyses was to determine the children eligible for the Block Grant funds awarded by states. It was discovered that prevalence of SED was associated with sex, race and age and higher rate of SED among older children. Rates of SED prevalence were not correlated with ethnic differences.
