Article Abstract:

Data compiled by the Cycles III and IV of the National Survey on Family Growth from 1982-1988 were analyzed to determine the impact of religious affiliation on intercourse risk and contraceptive use among women during the 1980s. Change in gender-ideology, 1977-1996: the contributions of intracohort change and population turnover

Article Abstract:

The factors driving the significant change in beliefs about women's work and family roles in the US since the 1970s are discussed. The speed of attitude change has slowed, but the cohort differences across sex and educational groups indicate that the liberalization of gender beliefs has not yet come to an end.
