A no-holds-barred tasting comparing two great vintages and two great Chardonnay regions

Article Abstract:

Wine tasters compared white Burgundy and California Chardonnay in a blind tasting. Forty wines were barrel tasted, and the California wines were rated somewhat better and less expensive than their French counterparts. A vintage chart is also provided.

J. Lassalle Brut Champagne Special Club 1989 and Ruinart Brut Champagne R de Ruinart 1998 are the top wines listed in this buyers guide. Both Champagnes received scores of 94 out of 100. An extensive variety of Champagnes is featured.
