The power of "begat"

Article Abstract:

The key to dynastic greatness is begatting and greatness emerges when one visionary begats another who in turn begats yet others. An example is the Barossa Valley, the epicenter of Australia's wine culture and home to some of Australia's biggest old-line wine companies, whose ambition and the power of begat is changing Barossa into creating the best possible wines rather than just best-selling ones.

Due for a comeback; Hanzell Vineyards, an almost forgotten estate in Sonoma, perseveres in making dazzling, age-worthy Chardonnay and a unique Pinot Noir

Hanzell Vineyards has lacked a driving force since its owner James D. Zellerbach died in 1963. But the winery is unique because Zellerbach was among the first to plant Chardonnay grapes in California, and he was the originator of California's burgundy-making techniques.

Better with age; a vertical tasting confirms the longevity of Hanzell Chardonnay and Pinot Noir

Article Abstract:

A vertical tasting indicates that the Chardonnay and Pinot Wines of the Hanzell Vineyards of Sonoma, CA, improve with age. Eighteen Hanzell wines dating back to 1962 were tasted. Each of the wines are briefly described.
