Arrest made in huge California warehouse fire

Article Abstract:

Mark Anderson was arrested and charged with burning down the Wines Central's massive warehouse in October 2005 that destroyed more than 6 million bottles of wine causing a financial loss exceeding $200 to $250 million. Anderson's company, Kansai Partners LLC, sold wines without the permission of their owners, and he had committed arson in order to cover his tracks that would implicate him in the sale of wines he was storing at Wines Central.

California's new frontier

Article Abstract:

A guide is presented to some of California's most distinctive and viticultural areas, called the Central Coast comprising the Santa Barbara County, Edna Valley, Arroyo Grande, Paso Robles and Monterey County winegrowing regions. This region is California's winemaking frontier and also an exciting viticultural laboratory, supplying wine lovers with a much clearer view of the appellations and the wines the viticultural areas produce.

A report is presented on the California Chardonnays, which constituted the best vintages in 2002 due to ideal growing conditions. All the varieties of Chardonnays produced in California are described, and a list of top wines and smart buys is also appended.
