Champagne's Y2K problem

Article Abstract:

There are fears circulating that the demand for French Champagne will outstrip the supply in preparation for the turn of the millennium. Some industry analysts say that is just hype, and that most Champagne houses have long been planning for increased demand at this time. A chart of shipments of Champagne to the US from 1987-1998 is included.

Article Abstract:

A list of low-priced wines from Australia priced $10 or less is presented which is a result of a growth spurt in new vineyard plantings across the country. A significant percentage of this menagerie of new wines sometimes falls below the recommended level but the best wines deliver fresh and lively flavors.
