Consumers to evaluate synthetic corks

Article Abstract:

Cellukork, a synthetic cork made of acetate polymer, was invented by Lermer Packaging in an attempt to combat musty flavors often associated with traditional wine corks. St. Francis Winery of Sonoma County, CA, is using the new cork in some of its wines and is awaiting customer opinion.

San Francisco's three new masters

Article Abstract:

Three men passed the difficult examination that resulted in their being named masters of wine. The three are professionals from top San Francisco restaurants. Steve Morey, Tim Gaiser and Mike Bonaccorsi were the only entrants who passed the test.
