Courts overturn more shipping bans

Article Abstract:

Two federal courts have enjoined Ohio and Florida from enforcing their bans on shipments from out-of-state in response to the US Supreme Court decision on direct-to-consumer wine shipping. In both cases, the courts ruled that the states' regulations were discriminatory and unconstitutional after the states reached agreements with the consumers and wineries suing them.

Senate passes tough anticonsumer legislation in mail-order wine battle

Article Abstract:

The U.S. Senate approved an amendment to the juvenile justice bill that would restrict home-delivery of fine wine. The amendment was inserted by Sen Robert Byrd and was supported by liquor wholesalers who see direct wine sales as a threat to their business. Rep Mike Thompson plans to fight the Byrd amendment and other amendments like it.

Article Abstract:

The life experiences of Robert Koch, the CEO of the Wine Institute, and his contributions to this largest winery trade industry are presented. According to Koch, he is in an industry, which tries to challenge the regulatory barriers, and anti-alcohol attitudes issued by the government policies.
