Danone strengthens position in China with milk drink buy

Danone of France, a food group, has purchased a controlling interest in Hangzhou Wahaha of China, a milk drink producer. Danone already has operations in China with its Lu biscuit plant and Amoy, its fresh dairy products, sauces and dim sum business. The company is aiming to double its sales outside France by 2000.
