For Champagne, the time is now: with unprecedented variety and the dazzling 1990 vintage available, why wait for the millennium?

Article Abstract:

The quality and quantity of Champagne available in the United States is high. Two hundred twenty-six Champagnes were evaluated. Vintage Champagne is for connoisseurs and the 1990 vintage, which is now available, is amongst the best ever. Small growers have produced items of rare quality that should be sampled.

Champagne gets serious

Article Abstract:

Champagnes from the vintage years of 1988-90 are being released by newer and more established champagne houses. Buying almost any of these champagnes assures the wine-lover of an outstanding experience. Those shopping for non-vintage champagnes might be better served by California sparkling wine.
