Riesling: United States

Article Abstract:

Riesling, grown throughout the US with mixed results, fares better in the cooler, more Northerly climates of Washington state and the Finger Lakes region of New York state. Most Riesling is machine harvested at night, when it is cool, while the yields there are much higher than on the slopes of Mosel, Alsace or Austria.
