The incredible lightness of Riesling

Riesling, considered as the world's greatest white wine grapes is on the rise with imports up and domestic production increasing. Late-harvested Riesling specialized by Germany, Alsace, and Austria makes intensely sweet, concentrated dessert wines, whose ample residual sugar helps preserve them for decades.

Riesling made its principal home in the Barossa, Clare and Eden Valleys of South Australia that have a continental climate in common featuring warm days, cool nights and warm, dry summers. Australian Rieslings having a strong identity fit into the lean, mineral style or the powerful broad category.
