Vendor certification: seven steps to a better product

Article Abstract:

A four-step guide for designing a vendorcertification program is outlined. Vendor certification, a management tool for improving competitiveness, involves the thorough analysis of all aspects of a vendor's performance to ensure that its products will consistently meet the expectations of consumers. Implementation of such a program can lead to reducedinventories, less waste, shorter lead times, improved supplier relations, lowercosts and others.

Schwartau to control Hero

Schwartau International of Germany, a preserves and bakery products company, has taken conrol of Hero of Switzerland, a fruit juice and preserves company, followng year long negotiations. They will form the largest preserves manufacturer in Europe, and plans to expand into other products such as sweets, and soft drinks, which have greater growth potential.
