South Africa steps up

The rapid improvement in the wine industry of South Africa is discussed. The best wines in the country are Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc and the ratings of South African Wine Vintages 1999-2003, the list of top wines and their values are mentioned.

Leaf roll virus causing headaches in South Africa's vinyards

Article Abstract:

Leaf roll is damaging South African grape crops and wines en masse. South African wine makers have been replacing infected vines with new ones, because the disease is caused by the mealy bug which is very hard to kill with pesticides.
