The 1998 harvest report

Article Abstract:

The 1998 grape growing season in the Northern hemisphere was dominated by the El Nino weather pattern. A report of the 1998 vintages is presented. Good as gold

Article Abstract:

Wine buyers would do well to buy Sauternes from three vintage years: 1990, 1989 and 1988. The vintages topped other wines in blind tastings of 140 sweet wines from France's Sauterne and Barsac regions. Best buys are the wines produced by Chateau d'Yquem and Chateau Climens.
