The magnificent 30: Kistler Vineyards

Article Abstract:

Steve Kistler is best known for Chardonnay, but Pinot Noir continues to fascinate him, and his 2002 and 2003 Russian River Valley bottlings showcase his preference for tight, rich, tart wild berry and blackberry fruit. His other Pinots include the Hirsch Vineyard Sonoma Coast, Cuvee Catherine Russian River Valley and Cuvee Elizabeth Sonoma Coast.

The magnificent 30: Vision Cellars

Article Abstract:

Edward Lee McDonald's early efforts at Pinot aimed for higher acidity and then changed to wines that were richer and fleshier. Vision Cellars wines however remain medium-bodied in color and weight despite that shift, giving them a measure of delicacy and finesse, with all of the Pinots being exceptionally well-made, fragrant and complex.
