The white horse is still kicking: young or old, Chateau Cheval-Blanc is a remarkable wine

Article Abstract:

Wine from the Chateau Cheval-Blanc winery in Bordeaux, France is remarkable for being tasty in recent vintages and which improve with proper storage. A tasting of wines from 1926 to 1996 reveals strong consistency and character. The quality of the wine is in part dependant on the terroir of the vineyards and management of the wine making process.

Great values are to be found in the 2000 vintage from the Bordeaux region. European bureau chief James Suckling has tentatively given the vintage exceptional ratings. Suckling's opinions are based on wine tastings that he took part in in March.
