How the bean saved civilization

Legumes may have been more important to civilization than the microchip, electricity or the automobile. The spreading cultivation of beans, peas and lentils in the 10th century provided more proteins for working people. They therefore were healthier, did not work, lived longer and had more children.

A small country wedding

Article Abstract:

Recipes for a menu designed to serve 16 at a small country wedding are presented. Four appetizers, two entrees, four side dishes, bread and rolls, one wedding cake and one cookie comprise the elaborate menu. Some recipes can be prepared in advance. Recommended wines are included.

The Republicans claim that American troops are demoralized and that the US military is suffering from shortage of equipment. Such claims are baseless because the US still has the biggest military expenditure in the world, spending about six times more than its closest rival.
