Beneficial effects of tempeh in disease prevention and treatment

Article Abstract:

Tempeh may be effective in reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Tempeh is made from fermented soybeans and is a major protein source in many countries. Several studies have shown that soy protein can lower cholesterol, but there was little evidence that tempeh had this characteristic. A few studies have shown that tempeh can indeed lower choesterol as well as reduce the duration of diarrhea in children. Animal studies show that it can inhibit atherosclerosis also.

Fish and heart disease: what is the real story?

Article Abstract:

A Health Professionals study shows that there is no relationship between fish intake and heart disease among men who are initially free of cardiovascular disease. The result is seen to diminish enthusiasm for fish and fish oil as a cure for coronary disease. Moreover, evidence shows that eating no fish at all may be unhealthy.
