The Meyers, inspired by a recent trip to Tuscany, Italy, hosted an Italian dinner for friends and family members at their home in Los Angeles, CA. They served grilled lamb chops, salads, apple tartlets and Tuscany-made wines, which made a satisfactory impression on the guests.

Persimmons are ready to eat in mid-October. The two types sold in the US are the Fuyu and Hachiya. Tips on purchasing properly ripe persimmons are given, along with recipes for holiday spinach salad, spiced persimmon chutney, persimmon pudding and persimmon creme caramel.
