Chile: a new golden age

Article Abstract:

Chile is known to produce one of the world's best wines, making the country the third most important supplier of imported wine to the US, following Italy and France. In 1997, Chile shipped more than 15 mil cases of wine to over 80 countries worldwide, higher than the previous year's 12 mil cases.

Chinon: red wine from the garden of France

Article Abstract:

Chinon's red wine is the most popular wine at Le Passage, France's present crop of neighborhood wine restaurants. The red wine is an example of vin de terroir because it is made from Cabernet Franc, a wine which has an aroma and flavor that reveals a memory of both the past and present.

Italy's Adige Valley

Article Abstract:

Adige Valley is considered the Germanic countries' southern wine district. An Italian province after the first world war, the valley continues to supply Germany, Austria and Switzerland with soft red wines that are difficult to produce in the colder regions beyond the Alps.
