Low-density lipoprotein (LDLs) is the type of cholesterol that is harmful to the body. LDL, unlike high-density lipoproteins (HDLs) which carry excess cholesterol back to the liver, deposit cholesterol onto artery walls. Good eating habits lessen the possibility of heart disease.
