Low-fat bistro soups

Article Abstract:

Soups can be both hearty and nutritious and often can be a meal in themselves. Four recipes for low-fat French bistro soups are given. They are quick pot-au-feu, lentil and mushroom soup, fresh tomato soup with low-fat basil ailoi and streamlined French onion soup.

Baking without butter

Article Abstract:

Butter should be used sparingly in cooking because of its high-fat content. Olive oil and canola oil contain monounsaturated fats, and are considered a healthy choice for baking. Recipes for desserts that can be baked without butter are included.
