Simplification of MUSIC and ESPRIT by exploitation of cyclostationarity

Article Abstract:

New cyclic correlation (CYCCOR) algorithms offer several advantages in the determination of multiple-source signal locations (direction of arrival) over previous algorithms, including MUSIC and ESPRIT. CYCCOR utilizes the cyclostationarity of signals to generate cyclic correlation matrix estimates. Advantages of the new algorithms include: only two sensors are needed for the MUSIC-like CYCCOR algorithm and two pairs of sensors for the ESPRIT-like algorithm, there is a consequent reduction in computational complexity, and there is an improved immunity to noise and interfering signals. Disadvantages include the need for prior knowledge or estimation of the frequency of each received source and the need for longer integration times.

Jay Pritzker

Article Abstract:

Jay Pritzker, who established a chain of more than 200 hotels in the US and abroad, came from a family which had already seen considerable success in business. He was a pioneer in creating hotels at airports, and took a strong interest in the individual personality of each hotel. His business success was partly attributable to the fact that he recognized the potential of luxury hotels. He placed considerable emphasis on hotel design, and created an architectural prize in 1979.
