New insights into intravenous peptide metabolism

Article Abstract:

The potential benefits of the eight dipeptides for intravenous nutrition were examined. Of particular interest was the kinetics of the intravenous injection of tyrosine and glutamine. These amino acids are two of three which pose difficulty in nutrient solution utilization owing to low solubility for tyrosine and controlled stability during autoclaving or storage for glutamine.

Dieting, essential fatty acid intake, and depression

Article Abstract:

Research presented concerns the relationship between lowered essential fatty acid intake and depression. Findings suggest that imbalances in essential fatty acids can result from dieting, and lower blood cholesterol levels may contribute to increased depressive symptoms.

Antimitotic peptide characterized from soybean: role in protection from cancer?

Article Abstract:

Possible associations between the intake of soy products and reduced cancer risk are discussed. These spring to mind because of the identification, cloning, and characterization of a potent antimitotic peptide from soybeans.
