Pine nuts of the West

Article Abstract:

Pine nuts, the seeds of the pine tree, are edible and have a rich, slightly sweet flavor. They are still used as ingredients in southwestern cooking owing to their abundance in the region's mountains. The nuts, however, are difficult to crack.
