Wine journal: glory on the Rhine

The annual Glorreiche Rheingau Tage held in Nov. 1994 at Wiesbaden, Germany showcased the rich flavor and history of German wine. Participants were able to assess 74 1993 vintage wines.

What happened to the corkscrew?

The corkscrew evolved out of a need for a tool to remove cork from wine bottles. These helpful devices became widely used in England to stopper bottles in the 16th century.
