Big strawboard mill planned in Alberta

Article Abstract:

Alberta Goldboard Inc is planning to construct a strawboard mill in Edmonton, Alberta, in fall of 1997. The new plant will manufacture medium density fiberboard, particleboard and Microstrand with fiber surfaces and a flake core and will have an industrial capacity of 360,000 cubic meters annually. International construction projects for mills manufacturing diverse wood products such as particleboard, laminated veneer lumber, medium-density fiberboard and laminated panels are also discussed.

More panel plants set; NZ projects top list

Article Abstract:

Rayonier New Zealand plans to build a medium-density fiberboard (MDF) plant in Mataura, New Zealand and Juken Nissho plans to build its MDF plant near Gisborne. The Rayonier project will cost $70 million and will begin operations in 1996. The Juken Nissho project will cost $48 million and will begin operations in 1997. Juken Nissho has another plant in Gisborne which cost $30 million and began operations in Feb 1994.

Two MDF plants top list of new capital projects

Article Abstract:

Two medium-density fiberboard plants will be constructed in Australia. Singapore's Dominance Industries will build their plant in Wangaratta, Victoria and operations will begin in 2nd qtr 1996. Hokushin, Japan-based Hokushin Co will build their plant in Bell Bay, Tasmania. BTR Nylex will double the capacity of their medium-density fiberboard plant by Dec 31, 1996 but this announcement was made earlier in mid-1995.
