Rainier Wood Products specializes in custom-lumber drying work. The company uses Northwest timber species such as white fir, hem-fir, Douglas fir, and hardwoods. Rainier dries, plane and size lumber to customers' specifications. The company mills the edge-glued lumber products to metric sizes in Imperial measurements to ensure the correct sizing of pieces. The company's customers are timber brokers who purchase wood for their international customers and remanufacture it according to their needs.

World's biggest wood fair tops 100,000 attendance

Wood demand will continue to increase, according to industry executives speaking at Ligna Hannover '95, the premier wood products industry exhibition. Tree supply will not be able to keep up with demand, which will likely double as a result of a doubling of Earth's population by the year 2025. Reasons for a drop in available tree supply include environmental protection and economics. Additionally, some of the products introduced at the show are included.
