'Above everything.' (climb to summit of California's Mount Shasta)

Article Abstract:

Mount Shasta is located in northern California and rises 14,162 feet above sea level, easily one of the highest peaks in the continental US. Boy Scout Troop 348 from West Point, CA, encountered harsh weather conditions, but still managed to reach the mountain's summit.

A Grand climb

Article Abstract:

Boy Scouts from Jackson, Wyoming, climbed to the top of Grand Teton, a summit of 13,770 feet. They utilized the training they had received in rope handling, climbing maneuvers and safety tips. The Scouts found they had to put complete trust in each other.

The challenge of Mount Rainier

Article Abstract:

Boy Scouts from the Cascade Volcano Climbing group in Washington State climbed Mount Rainier in the summer of 1992. The Scouts trained for three month before the climb and reached 11,200 feet before dangerous conditions forced them to turn back.
