Cloning and genetic research both have positive and negative consequences which must be weighed against the values held by society. Although cloning research has the potential to improve human health, the benefits it can provide to larger segments of the population should be considered.

A growing number of states have enacted laws that penalize parents for the criminal behavior of their children. Penalties include fines, training on parenting skills and jail time. However, critics say that these laws cannot prevent juvenile delinquency.
