Don't be a water hog

Article Abstract:

Fresh water is a rare resource since only 3% of the earth's water is fresh. Two-thirds of that amount is locked up in the polar ice caps. Some places pump water from underground reservoirs faster than it is replaced by nature. Ways avoid wasting water at home suggested.

Portable fire

Article Abstract:

Portable camp stoves are lightweight and compact. Camp stoves are considered safer than camp fires, and they also minimize the use of natural wood. Stoves that use white gas, kerosene, unleaded gasoline and butane are available. Some of the latest models are described.

'Backyard Monsters: The World of Insects' is an exhibit that will visit science museums throughout the US between 1993 and 1996. The exhibit includes moving replicas that are 12 to 96 times bigger than life size and more than 1,000 real insects and arachnids.
