Grounds for concern

Article Abstract:

The Scottish Office and the Department of National Heritage has published a guide on safety at sports events. Sports stadia are used for a range of functions and emergency lighting must be clearly seen on every exit route to help people escape in an emergency. Lighting must be checked at least one day before every function, with faults being repaired immediately. Emergency lighting must also be checked every year by an outside body and it must be protected against damage. Lighting in temporary structures, such as marquees, needs to be of an equally high standard.
