Interpretation of animal and human intervention trials

Article Abstract:

Human clinical trials pose several problems to researchers, such as limited observation frequency and the clarity of the outcome variable. Animal experiments are usually used to substitute for human clinical trials, but these are not always representative of the research topic. Some of the variables in animal trials which pose difficulties are risk factors, dose and duration of exposure, species specificity in susceptibility or response, stage of life and time of measurement.

A proposed legislation to protect citizens' finances from the possible disastrous effects of the Y2K computer bug includes a temporary waiver on foreclosures or defaults resulting from computer errors. Transactions prior to the advent of the Y2K bug will not be included in the waiver.
