A visit to Pat Robertson's 70th birthday celebration was a surprise in that many in the religious right seemed very nice. The experience raised the question of whether the religious right, attending a political left meeting, would feel the same way.

The demography of Washington, D.C., with older men and younger women, is such that personal relationships are inevitable. The older men are politicians and the younger women are interns, the most famous being Monica Lewinsky. Such relationships do not normally receive much notice, and are usually short-term because of the constant influx of interns.
