The residents of Springfield, MA, where Dr. Seuss lived as a boy, knew him by his real name, Theodor S. Geisel. His mother praised the unusual drawings he made as a boy. His first major accomplishment was submitting the winning drawing in an advertising contest when he was 12 years old.

High school football is taken very seriously on Nantucket Island, especially when the Nantucket High Whalers play their annual game against archrival Martha's Vineyard, with the coveted Island Cup at stake. The fans of each get along well though, as they all have island life in common.
