'There has to be balance. There has to be a reality check.'

Article Abstract:

Sen. Larry E. Craig, Chairman, Senate Veterans Affairs Committee is confident that President Bush's plan for the 2006 Veterans Affairs (VA) budget would allocate adequate resources that would take care of the needs of veterans. He views the movement to allow VA to bill Medicare for reimbursement as a means for a veteran who does not have a service-connected relationship to gain access to VA health care.
