An empirical analysis of imprisoning drug offenders

Article Abstract:

The United States witnesses rise in the number of drug offenders in prisons between 1980 and 2000. The effects of the change in the public policy on drug offenders are examined. The influence of drug punishment on cocaine prices is studied. The projections of cocaine prices according to city and year are presented utilizing the System to Retrieve Information from Drug Evidence (STRIDE).

The optimal use of fines and imprisonment when wealth is unobservable

Article Abstract:

A model showing the right mix between fines and imprisonment for offenders is presented. For this purpose, offenders are segregated between low wealth and high wealth types.
