Analog addressables come down in size, price

Article Abstract:

Analog addressable fire systems can now be used in the broader segment of the market, such as schools, offices and other small buildings. The system was formerly used primarily in the high end of business. But now it is more cost effective to bring the system to smaller projects. Analog addressable systems offer drift compensation, that allows the sensor and panel to index or offset accumulated dirt so it maintains a constant level of sensitivity over a longer period of time. They also have multiple sensitivity levels that enable individual areas to be set depending on the facility's needs.

Panel advances

Article Abstract:

Fire panel systems available in the market now include technologies that are classified into intelligent, adressable, wireless and conventional. The choice of using one system from another depends on the size of the business being protected. Small to mid-sized commercial establishments often use conventional systems that have been proven to be reliable, inexpensive and easy to install. Wireless, intelligent and addressable sytems are still confined to larger establishments because of their high costs.
