Disassimilation

Article Abstract:

The US must impose an immigration law that shall temporarily ban the entry of immigrants, particularly Hispanics. A growing number of Americans, concerned about the immigrant Hispanics' apparent lack of assimilation to American culture, have begun to call for a curtailment of legal immigration. Instead of allowing less-skilled and less-educated immigrants to enter the US, existing immigrants must be urged to assimilate the social, political and cultural fabric of America by inspiring them into learning better English, improving their skills and becoming more Americanized.

Union-only government contracts

Article Abstract:

A growing number of local governments in California are implementing 'project labor agreements' (PLA) which give companies with labor unions monopoly over government construction contracts. This practice is prejudicial to non-union workers and deprives the state of the benefits of competition, including higher quality, lower costs and greater attention to taxpayers' interests. The main driving force behind the PLA trend is the strong political influence of building trade unions.
