Euroscepticism and history education in Britain

Article Abstract:

The role of the collective British attitude to history has played in generating and sustaining the popularity of British Eurosceptic opinions about Europe and European Union is explored. The findings states that the way the British people approach their history might be the only way of bringing about changes in the way the country relates to Europe as an idea, and how the public and politicians imagine Europe, and as things stand popular nationalist British Euroscepticism shows no sign of abating.

The first Welsh National Assembly election

Article Abstract:

The results of the first election to the National Assembly for Wales are discussed. The 1999 election results showed unanticipated strong support for the Plaid Cymru party, with a corresponding drop in support for the Labour Party; the results also raise the possibility that the Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties may become marginalized in the face of an emerging two-party system based on proportional representation.
