Information and strategyproofness in joint project selection

Article Abstract:

A model was developed to illustrate technology development problems confronting research consortia and partially decentralized multi-divisional firms. The model involves identification of potential goods for a group of people whose choices, despite being organizationally affiliated, are influenced by budget restrictions and personal preferences. The model was able to yield a strategyproof selection and cost allocation mechanism under a specific decision criterion.

Externalities vs. internalities: a model of political integration

Article Abstract:

A model was formulated to determine the most appropriate design of politically integrated jurisdictions. The model, which illustrates the trade-off between decentralized and centralized government, specifically centers on issues involving the distribution of preferences across geographic regions and the relative size of regions. It takes into consideration an assumption that political integration of two regions makes the concept of secession costly.
