Kathleen Brown, Garamendi jockey for '94 at weekend Demo convention

Article Abstract:

The California Democratic Party Convention of Apr 1993 was attended by 2400 Democratic Party members in Sacramento, CA, who listened to the gubernatorial campaign plans of State Treasurer Kathleen Brown, Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi and Assembly Speaker Willie Brown. A twisted tale of revenge

Article Abstract:

Assembly Speaker Doris Allen was relieved of her position on Nov. 28, 1995 via a recall election after serving for only six months. Her ouster was engineered by conservative Assembly Republican caucus members who were displeased with her decision to run for a post in Orange County, CA, and her dealings with former Speaker Willie Brown Jr. Attorney Scott Baugh was chosen to replace her.
