Keeping check fraud in check

Article Abstract:

Check fraud has caused US organizations to lose six percent of their yearly revenues estimated at over $400 million. The increasing incidence of check fraud is attributed to poor detection and prevention procedures, the sophistication of organized criminal elements and the expanded use of desktop publishing and laser printers. To counter the incidence of check fraud, financial institutions are using computer-aided systems and other technologies in fighting check fraud.
