Article Abstract:

Labor community which was enjoying various privileges under Democrats faces tough times ahead due to proposed bills to be presented by Republican Congress in 1995 focussing on amendments in various worker protection schemes, current wage laws, increase in minimum wages. Despite dealing with structural changes, setbacks at national level and declining membership in some of the labor unions the labor movement has had some success. Political leverage that Democrats will get due to these Republican policies is discussed.
