Seeking out printer speed, ID integration

Article Abstract:

ID security buyers should look into card printer features and integrated systems to ensure ease of operation. Paul Mullen, manager of NISCA Operations, offers tips and hints about printer features. Mullen said that corporate buyers should look for ease-of-operation features when changing print heads. It is also better to have the LCD panel to display all the information related to operator and printer on the printer. Mullen thinks that parallel processing technology allows the end user to minimize printing time up by up to 50% across the whole card production process. Mullen says that buyers should ask manufacturers to describe the product in terms of specific scenarios such as computer processor, interface and card specifications.

Furby alert: a national security concern?

Article Abstract:

Tiger Electronics of Vernon Hill, IL, has scored a huge hit with its 'Furby' toys that a number of rumors have been circulating about the supposed artificial intelligence of the toy. The NSA may not want to take chances but it could be overreacting as the microphone inside the toy is not meant to listen to and record conversations.
