There is a lot happening inside that DSP camera

Article Abstract:

Digital Signal Processing (DSP) cameras produce a more accurate image compared with analog-processing cameras because the former have a distinctive way of processing video. DSP cameras' settings and adjustments will not change over a period of time, unlike analog cameras. Likewise, images produced by DSP cameras contain 256 shades/colors of gray, compared with 150 or less shades/colors of gray contained on images that are generated by analog cameras. Aside from improving the dynamic range of the images that pass through DSP cameras, they also enable to improve other features that are usually found in analog cameras.

Integration: Windows NT and API's

Article Abstract:

Microsoft Corp's Win32 Application Programming Interface (API) has allowed the integration of multiple security applications on a single computerized control system. Since the obsolescence of Win32, however, Windows NT has emerged as the platform of choice for integrators who wish to make full use of their Win32 API capabilities. Windows NT simply shuts down a misbehaving program without affecting the other applications, a feature not share by Windows 95 or Windows CE.

Anti-terrorism software models real effects of biological weapons

Article Abstract:

PLG Inc's Meteorological Information and Dispersion Assessment System Anti-Terrorism (MIDAS-AT) software is capable of measuring, in real time, the toxic effects of biological and chemical weapons. Introduced in the end of Mar 1999, MIDAS-AT, can model the impact of changing wind and other important weather patterns during the course of an incident. PLG's system can be customized according to a customer's site or maps.
