A physical examination of health care's readiness for a total quality management program: a case study

Article Abstract:

Many hospitals are adopting total quality management (TQM) principles to enhance their competitiveness. In developing TQM programs, hospitals should take into consideration the perceptions of managers and nonmanagers about the TQM process. Such assessments of employee perceptions will determine the organization's readiness to adopt TQM programs. Moreover, they will allow employees to take active roles in the implementation of improvement initiatives.
